www.atlfa.org The Assistive Technology Loan Fund Authority in Virginia is titled the New Well Fund. The New Well Fund offers loans and funcing for persons needing assistive technology devices such as stairlifts, vehicle lifts, door openers and wheelchairs when these devices are not covered by the person's insurances.
www.mdtap.com The Maryland Technology Assistance Program provides loans and funding for assistive technology, mobility devices and home modifications when they are not covered by the person's insurance.
www.resna.org Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. RESNA provides information legislative updates regarding funding, new technology and certification. RESNA is the only agency in the US that administers the certification program for professionals in the rehab and assistive technology fields.
www.nrrts.org The National Registry for Rehab Technology Suppliers is a body of assistive technology suppliers that have committed to joining this self governing body to insure that providers adhere to a code of ethics and standards of care. Of particular interest on this site is the "how to select a rehab technology supplier" under the"consumer" tab. This page will instruct consumers on how to select a RESNA credentialled provider for medical equipment.
