Shoprider's Smartie raises the bar in power wheelchair design higher than it has ever been. How could this be? Well the Smartie is the first power wheelchair to use lithium battery technology, known as Envirofriendly batteries. Unlike bulky and heavy lead-acid batteries, Envirofriendly batteries are lighter and more powerful. Another great advantage is that they also recharge quicker (from 2 to 4.5 hours) and last longer.
The Smartie uses this new battery technology in combination with an ultra compact power base and connector-less technology. In fact, the Smartie only weighs 93 pounds with batteries. It also features a 3-way adjustable seat, a 3-way adjustable footrest, and a 15.5 inch turning radius.
